CD Release Party!

20140209-165213.jpg

We had an incredible time on Friday night playing our CD release show at Johnny D's! Thank you so much to all our fans, friends and family who came out! Without your support this wouldn't all be possible and we are grateful for the ongoing support and interest! All in all the night was awesome, and we were psyched to see such a lively dance floor! We look forward to putting another date on the calendar at Johnny D's, and in the meantime, keep an eye on our schedule and we hope to see you soon!

The new album is now available for sale right here on our website, on iTunes and CD Baby.

Sugarloaf!

Well it was another amazing weekend up at Sugarloaf this year! Despite some pretty unfavorable ski conditions, (rain in January?!) we were happy to meet lots of awesome folks at The Widowmaker looking to party. It certainly helped make the weekend even GREATER that the Pats won. All in all we had some great shows, and debuted a couple new tunes including the new original, "Your Song" from the upcoming album, the Phish tunes "Stash" and "Chalkdust Torture," and another killer Muddy Waters tune called "Want to be Loved." We also featured Brandon Mayes on the percussion and backup vocals for the first time, and we loved the added dynamic. Thanks to everyone who came out to The Widowmaker! Thanks for bringing the energy, and making it another raging weekend! photo-1

Holiday Brews and Blues

The last 2 nights were a blast, and thanks to everyone who came out! Thursday night was our first show at The Woodstock Brewery in North Woodstock, and it was a great room, with awesome people and a fun vibe... and of course delicious microbrews! Nice to meet some new friends and also reconnect with some old ones.. We'll be back to the brewery on March 13th!

Also had a great gig at Strange Brew Tavern in Manchester last night. Again, great to meet some new faces and see family and friends. We love the energy at Strange Brew, and it made for a really fun show last night. We'll be back to ManchVegas on February 21, and will bring a batch of new CD's after the 2/7/14 album release party at Johnny D's!

Thanks to all for coming out on the Holiday Brews and Blues run. We are greatly appreciative of the continued support!

Red Parka / Attitash

We had a great time in Glen, NH this past weekend for our show at The Parka. Thanks to all who came down, despite the weathermen putting the fear of God into everyone concerning driving on the snowy roads. We'll be back at The Parka on 2/14 and 2/15, and will also be playing an Apres Ski gig at Ptarmigan Pub at Attitash the afternoon of 2/15. Hope to see everyone there!

Another New Song in our Soundcloud Player from the Upcoming New Album!!!

Check out our Soundcloud player for another preview from the upcoming new album! "Blues for LA" was written 9 years ago... it's been played at many shows, and recorded several times for our 2010 EP, "More Ways Than One," our 2012 live album, "Live at The Red Parka Pub," and for various demos. The EP version has even been played on a couple radio stations including WERS 88.9, 101.9 for The Cheap Seats, and various online radio stations. HOWEVER, I don't think the song's potential has ever been captured with any recording yet.. and that's why we chose to include a new version on the upcoming new album. I'm psyched about this new version, as we've finally recorded it as I hear it in my head! As a general update on the new album, John Keane has a few more tracks to mix, and then we'll be mastering all the songs on August 19th with Bernie Grundman in Hollywood. Bernie is one of the most famous mastering engineers in music history, and has 37 grammys! Thirty freakin' seven grammys! Feeling very honored to work with the legendary, John Keane for mixing and one of, if not the most highly regarded mastering engineer of all time, Bernie Grundman!

I know this whole process has taken a lot longer than I ever said it would, but you can't rush quality! I think we'll finally be ready to release the album in early October!

In the meantime, I hope y'all enjoy this brand new unmastered version of "Blues for LA."

New Song!

Check out the new studio version of "When I Get Back Home" on our Soundcloud player!! This is the first track off our upcoming self titled new album! John Keane, known for his work with Widespread Panic, REM, Jimmy Herring, and The Indigo Girls is mixing all the tracks. We're targeting a late Summer release date, but here's a sample of what's to come. If you dig what you're hearing, tell a friend about our band, and to "like" our facebook page. Thank you to all our fans and friends for helping spread the word about The Gravel Project!!

Northern Lights!

Great times up in Vermont last weekend... always fun to be in Burlington, and it was great to play Red Square again. We were bummed the rain didn't hold off, so we couldn't play the outdoor stage, but that just means we'll have to come back up this Summer to rock it outside! Thanks to everyone who came out to the show and those who bought our CDs! Always awesome to connect with new fans and spread our music!

The Salem News - Fresh Gravel

“Gritty and sophisticated” would also be a fair description of The Gravel Project’s sound on their second CD, “Live at the Red Parka Pub,” which appeared this March.

The album mixes blues, funk and jazz in a musical range that includes Muddy Waters and the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers and Israel Tolbert, in addition to several original songs.

Strange Brew Tavern

Kicking back today on this snowy day after a productive and fun couple weekend with the band.. Strange Brew on Friday night was a blast, and thanks to everyone for coming out and showing support!

And yesterday was an extremely productive day of mixing the first 3 tracks from the upcoming album. We cranked out final mixes of "In the Moonlight," "Blues for LA," and "Not the One," and it is sounding killin'!! Metronome Studio is the real deal too.. They've got some of the best mixing gear in New England at their gem of a studio, tucked away in Brookline, NH.

Pete Peloquin who frequently works with Government Mule, Robben Ford, and John Scofield mixed the tracks, and it was a pleasure working with Pete. We'll be mastering the tracks tomorrow and throwing them up on Soundcloud this week, so stay tuned!!

Woke up this morning still thinking about our show last night at Smoken Joe's in Brighton... awesome time! Nice to see a few familiar faces and great to meet some new fans!

We always try to play more straight up blues tunes at this venue since it's a blues bar, but we also got into some new experimental improvisations.

Thanks to guests Tucker Antell on saxophone and Sven Larsen on bass...

Always a pleasure to invite our friends up to jam with us!

Northern Lights!

Back from Sugarloaf after rocking The WidowMaker Lounge on Friday (1/11) and Saturday (1/12)... man we had a blast! We really felt everyone's  appreciation for the music, which served as a great source of inspiration. Also definitely feeling peoples' love for the jam.. Brad, Dave and I really stretched a lot of songs out in some fresh new ways, and I think we even surprised ourselves with some of the improvisations.

It's always fun to travel to new places and play music for new crowds, and we felt a strong connection to the Maine ski crowd. We're already looking forward to coming back several times next year!

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us this weekend!

Hola, Gravel fans!

Peace.
